Training and events
Among other ad hoc events, Shift hosts annual training events in partnership with the Canadian Practitioner’s Network for the Prevention of Radicalization and Extremist Violence (CPN-PREV). Shift will also provide regular training sessions to organizations participating in Shift Hubs on topics including, but not limited to, the hub model, privacy protection and information sharing, area-specific service delivery, and countering radicalization to violence more generally. Canadian Practitioners Network for Prevention of Radicalization and Extremist Violence CPN-PREV
CPN-PREV is an evidence-based and practitioners-centred network established to bring forward Canadian leadership and develop excellence in countering violent radicalization. CPN-PREV supports best practices and collaborations among intervention teams, through sustained knowledge mobilization between researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and various community sectors.
Canada Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society (TSAS)
TSAS supports research, and the dissemination of research, related to the threat of terrorism, security responses to terrorism, and the impact of both terrorism and securitization on Canadian society. The organization has three primary objectives: (1) to foster communication and collaboration between academic researchers in multiple disciplines on these topics; (2) to facilitate the interaction and collaboration of researchers and policy officials; and (3) to help cultivate a new and larger generation of scholars interested in these fields of study.
Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence (Canada Centre)
Located at Public Safety Canada headquarters in Ottawa, the Canada Centre is made up of a group of professionals with expertise in countering radicalization to violence. As a centre of excellence, the Canada Centre provides national leadership on Canada’s efforts to counter radicalization to violence.
