WHAT IS SHIFT

We are a secondary prevention program

Shift is led by the BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General specifically focused on providing support to individuals that are vulnerable to the process of radicalization to violence.

In 2017, our Ministry received funding from the Canada Centre for Community Engagement and Prevention of Violence (the Canada Centre) to launch Shift as a five-year pilot. The Canada Centre was established by Public Safety Canada in 2016 to more effectively respond to the issue of radicalization to violence nationwide. Along with its ongoing support of the Canada Centre’s mandate, British Columbia is committed to informing the National Strategy on CRV through this partnership.
